2nd Saturday of each month, April through November, CR&GC holds a unique 22-rimfire match shooting knock-down steel silhouettes from a bench rest.

Only 22 long rifle cartridges are allowed. You may use any 22 rifle with any power scope. The match is shot from a bench rest. Front & rear rests must be separate (no one-piece rests). There are five banks of targets with five targets in each bank. Chickens at 75 yards, pigs at 100, turkeys at 125,  rams at 150, and a second set of rams at 200 yards. The match consists of 40 rounds for a record shot in two 20-round relays.

Shooters are classified as either “A” class or “B” class. Competitors new to this discipline begin in A-class and will remain A-class until they fire three scores of 38 or higher at which time they are moved to B-class. Any A-class shooter can voluntarily choose to move to B class.

“A” class shooters engage chickens, pigs, turkeys, and the 150-yard rams. “B” class shoots chickens, pigs, turkeys, and the 200-yard rams. The rams at 150 and 200 yards are the same size. Shooting for-record usually begins at 9:00. There are no sight-in shots allowed once the match begins. However, there will be a sight-in period beginning shortly after the match director arrives,  usually soon after 7:00. Because our range has only six shooting benches we limit sight-in time to 10  minutes or less to allow as many people as possible to have a chance to sight-in. Use of the shooting benches for sight-in is first-come-first-serve. Please be at the range at 8:00 or sooner if you wish to make use of this sight-in opportunity.

Relevant details:

The gun club has printable PDF practice targets available upon request.  Our knock-down targets are reset remotely with compressed air. It seems every one of us owns a 22-rimfire rifle but have you ever tried to engage small targets at long distances? A 22 rifle sighted in at 25 yards will hit 27” (or 17 MOA) low at our 150-yard rams and 57” (27 MOA) low on the 200-yard rams. Some of the competitors attending our matches try to  “hold over” using special reticles in their scopes while others dial their scope turrets to compensate for bullet drop. If you should need assistance setting up a rifle for our matches please contact Stan or Jack.

Entry fees for this match are $10 for club members, $20 for non-members. The club returns about 50% of the entry fees in prize money.

The Cedaredge chapter A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League ™ is a ladies-only organization established by women shooters for women pistol, rifle, and shotgun shooters! The league is designed to take beginners to whatever skill level they wish to achieve and provide experienced shooters with more opportunities.

The objective of some is to improve their skill levels for self-defense and competitive shooting. Others also are interested in learning how to choose the right guns, gear, and accessories for long-term participation in the community.

We have multiple events  year-round each month including a Friday night Girls Night Out, "T" Trigger Time, and Bullets and Breakfast.
